Tim Kent's works are meditations on the transience of being and metaphysics.
In these paintings the human figure is never totally defined.
It is represented either dissolving or resolving and in a state of constant agitation.
Kent is interested in the presence of his beings, aware or unaware of their own selves through his eyes.
In relation to this, empty rooms and their objects are charged with the residue of human presence, drawing on the spectator's own emotional reaction to these vacant spaces.
Kent cleverly captures the atmosphere of his subject's ephemeral being and inadvertently captures the nature of not being at all.
